Who is Eda Çatalçam?

Eda Çatalçam began her professional theater career in 2002 with Semaver Kumpanya. Since then, she has performed in numerous productions while also pursuing her academic and artistic development. She completed her Master’s degree in Film and Drama at Kadir Has University, specializing in acting and directing.

Eda was enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Directing at Ankara University’s Faculty of Language, History and Geography; however, she did not complete the program due to the dismissal of her professors through statutory decrees.

She worked as an assistant to renowned acting coach Tilbe Saran at Kadir Has University, where she also completed modules based on the Michael Chekhov technique and later developed and delivered her own training content on the subject. Eda has worked as a drama instructor in Saint Joseph Schools and taught both children and adults at Ekol Drama.

During her tenure on the board of the Turkish Actors’ Union, she took on key roles in establishing the gender equality and education units, and actively worked on projects related to child actor rights.

Some of the TV projects she appeared in include Diğer Yarım, Yalan Dünya, Leyla ile Mecnun, and 20 Dakika.

In July 2019, she founded Mavi Productions, a creative platform through which she continues to produce work in London. She has once again attracted attention with her role as Seher in the play Seher and Ali staged in London. Additionally, she recently portrayed the character Kamelya in the short film Interpreter, which has just completed production.

Since 2021, Eda Çatalçam has been working as a theater instructor in the Seasonal Players program, continuing to mentor and inspire emerging performers.
